Rob Grimes boasts over three decades of experience in the very industries ConStrata specializes in. Rob provides high-level strategic services to ConStrata's clients and he sets the overall direction of the company. He is a dedicated futurist and a leading voice trumpeting the technologies that are reshaping these key industries.
He began his career in foodservice, hospitality and retail operations. This was followed recognizing a critical industry need and then founding and running the original global world class service and support company serving these industries. His continued accomplishments clearly and firmly establish Rob as an entrepreneur, innovator and mentor who over and over again champions technology vision and investments for restaurants, hotels and retail.
Prior to ConStrata Tech Consulting, Grimes founded Cyntergy, which he expanded to include CynterCon, CynterPubs and CynterShow – all part of the CynterCorp organization. After Cyntergy was sold in 2001, CynterCon became Accuvia and CynterShow became Hostec Events which owns and operates the FSTEC and Hostec conferences, showcases and events.
After graduating with a degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Foodservice Management from Penn State, he worked in food & beverage operations for Holiday Inn and then Marriott International in its Roy Rogers, Bob's Big Boy, and hotel divisions. While he worked at Marriott’s corporate headquarters, he developed the Distributed Systems Group to support the various point-of-sale technology systems used by Marriott's retail, hospitality and foodservice groups. During his long operational career, he was President of That’s Amore Restauarants and remains the CEO of Capitol Fresh a company that makes investments and operates foodservice operations in the Washington, D.C. region.
Rob is also founder and former Managing Director of Accuvia Consulting as well as the current Chairman & CEO of ConStrata’s affiliated companies; Hostec Events, FSTEC and TechAdvisor Publishing.
Rob serves on the Advisory Boards of the HR&IM programs at Penn State, the University of Delaware and UNLV.
